| The Fourth International Retailer’s Sourcing Fair Opens in Nanjing |

The Fourth International Retailer’s Sourcing Fair (IRSF)，co-sponsored by MOFCOM and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government，opened in Nanjing on June 28. Liang Baohua, Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, Governor Luo Zhijun, and Fang Aiqing, Assistant Minister of Commerce, were present at the opening ceremony.
Fang Aiqing said that, since the financial crisis broke out, the Chinese government has actively responded to the impact and has taken a series of measures such as “maintaining growth, expanding domestic demand and adjusting structure”. And faced with the current situation, it is most important for business to join efforts to overcome difficulties and actively invigorate circulation and expand consumption. The “Business Matchmaking, or Trading Fair of Exports-for-Domestic-Sale” and the “National Export Commodity Circuit Exhibition” were new events to the 4th IRSF, and foreign trade and domestic trade going together was a highlight of the fair. Fang also pointed out that the 4th IRSF shall further deepen the cooperation between retailer groups, enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and domestic manufacturing enterprises.
The fair has attracted 1,089 suppliers, about 1,000 professional buyers and procurement executives. According to preliminary statistics, a record number of purchase lists have been submittedby foreign buyers on the fair, with more than 10,000 items from some 400 categories. At the same time, “Business Matchmaking, or Trading Fair of Exports-for-Domestic-Sale” and the “National Export Commodity Exhibition Circuit” shall help to resolve the problems of slow-selling export goods caused by down-sliding demand in international market. The products on the exhibition were from those foreign trade oriented production and processing enterprise, and included clothes and garments, textile products, household products, luggage and shoes, toys, crafts, home appliances, daily consumer goods, stationery, and local specialty.
